The Swabian Alb not only stands out spatially from the surrounding landscape - it is also outstanding in other respects. Because their limestone is a true treasure trove for fossils from the Jurassic period. And in their caves our earliest ancestors have found refuge - and begun a new era of human culture.

At the beginning of July 2017, UNESCO declared the caves on the southern edge of the Swabian Alb a World Heritage Site. More than 40, 000-year-old animal figures, tools and musical instruments testify to the fact that our ancestors lived through decisive steps in their development there. The Swabian Alb is therefore not only a true "Jurassic Park", it is also a cradle of the Ice Age art and human history.
